Bengeo Co-op cordoned off
Bengeo Co-op is shut this morning. All cordoned off with several Police vans at the scene. Assume there was a break in during the night - looks like the police are taking photographs and dusting for dabs.

I am told it was an armed raid this morning. It will be closed at least until lunchtime

Yes I was worried when I heard for the staff's safety glad no one was hurt.
Shame the Post Office will have suffered on one of their busiest days of the year through no fault of thier own..
I was told when I went to The Avenue for the morning paper.

Reported in the Mercury today that 2 men have been charged (before Christmas apparently) and two further people arrested in connection with this robbery. Great news, and pretty quick work on the part of the police on the assumption they have the correct offenders. I hope this news gives the staff in the co-op a bit a lift - must have been terrifying for them
