Got away with only about 15 minutes distraction on the site this time - was about two hours last time I got hooked in; its a wonderful site and I'll certainly visit again. I remember the pool very well and spent many a summer on the mound,annoying the pool supervisor, eating wagon wheels from the shop and generally having a good time. Its a shame it couldn't survive but times change and a covered pool gives more people access all year round. I was also intrigued by the "Daring escape from Hertford Gaol" - now that's the way to treat the miscreants - any sign of trouble just string one up from the nearest shop sign, more effective than a water cannon!! This particular sentence brought tears to my eyes - for more than one reason!! "Theophilus Dean receiving a shot in the groin dropt; they then surrendered and the Sheriff instantly caused Bacon-Face to be hang’d on the arch of the sign iron belonging to the Gaoler’s house" The Gaolers house was apparently on the site of the Pizza Express in Fore St.

Does anyone know if its possible to buy copies of the photos on here? There are some interesting ones of our house. Its a great site.
