To clarify, from the AUP: Scope 8. The Discover Hertford Online Forum is provided as a means for local residents to discuss local issues and events. The term 'local' refers to Hertford an it's immediate locales. Whilst a certain amount of digression will be allowed, any thread that becomes dominated by discussion of non-related subjects or personalities will be locked. Clearly, the benefits system and government policy is not a local topic [:)]

Sir, Firstly may I say it is never my intention to offend, mock or upset anyone. I understand that my thread is not solely about hertford, but neither is the weather, and you don't remove those threads. By removing my topic, you have denied me, and others the freedom of an opinion. Do you feel my thread was too close to the truth, or it may offend others? The comments I made affect this, and all communities, and I deem the removal unfair. For that reason I will not post again, and make no apology for my thoughts and principles. Am curious to know who you are protecting by your actions though. Simon

I'm sorry that you feel unhappy about the removal of your post. However, as detailed above, the post was quite clearly off-topic, and by your own admission nothing to do with Hertford. This is why it was removed. The Acceptable Use Policy is clear that the forum is for the discussion of local issues, so I really can't see what is unfair about the removal of a topic which is not about a local issue. My view on your opinion is irrelevant. I may even agree with you. However, government proposals on benefit capping fall outside the scope of this forum. With regard to the weather thread, this relates to the weather in Hertford and is therefore a valid topic.

I also placed a question some time back about the wind turbine at bennington and would it be seen from Hertford and this was removed, surely then anything affecting Hertford should be allowed to be posted on here?

Hi Sipukka I did manage to read your original comment and I agree with what you wrote and anything to do with Hertford should be allowed on here and I think that Admin is being a bit to selective, perhaps CPs comment on the American Mid West and the centre of the galaxy should be removed as they have nothing to do with Hertford?

Thanks nightowl. What bothered me most was the infringement on my freedom of speech, and the fact my original post affects all taxpayers, INCLUDING those in hertford. People may not agree, that is their right. But admin playing god didn't give them a chance. Maybe my post was too close to home for some of the forum readers and admin, that's how I see it. I read the original post and wondered what direct connection it had to Hertford. I was left thinking that if someone wanted to discuss such matters there would be a better suited forum somewhere out there.
