Sometimes I find the 2nd carriage is like a freezer when the rest of the train is quite cosy. Not happened recently thank goodness.

Strange. All this week and most of last week the 0850 has been like a fridge, as has the 1818 from MOG (it's a bit odd walking from a warm platform into a freezing train, underground). On top of the lack of heat I also seem to always get a Class 313 with those dreadful seats, so minor backache as well as being freezing cold. Top quality service from FCC after another price increase [:)]

they do say if you tweet them with the carriage number they will look at it. (5 digit number above the doors (inside) or at the end) i must admit i do get a bit of a mismash, certainly the older trains do seem to have heating troubles. And sometimes it's the other way and absolutely roasting!

I've spoken to them regarding the poor quality of the 313s I have to endure but thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt over the heating for a few days. I'll email customer services again (I don't have or want a twitter account) and see what they say.

ok, regardless of the communication medium, you still need the carriage number. Without it you're not going to get anywhere.

The driver mentioned the other morning that the heating in carriage 1 hasn't worked for years. He exaggerated somewhat saying he's been complaining about it for the last 10 or so, but he made a point of letting everyone know it was 'being looked into' ... Generally 3 or 4 is quite toasty.

I haven't commuted since 2005 and it was definitely off then!!! Seems the price of fares doesn't equate to fixing and maintaing the rolling stock !
