Inadvertently the Ram became the West Ham pub of choice today; Michael and Celina were brill, I think that they work on the Irish concept that running a pub is a vocation not just a job. Good luck to them . I’m told good value food; will try food wise tomorrow. A typical old fashioned town centre boozer; if you like Baruoosk (try that on a spell-check) you probably will not like the Ram - Mr Tigger Tigger

Use to play darts for the Ram up til a couple of years ago when H&L fell out with most of the darts team, hopefully the new people will enliven the pub again, people are saying the beer quality has improved I will have to try it now, under H&L it always had a devastating effect on my digestive system! Hopefully I will now be able to drink there with confidence!

Carlos, the Rugby Club will be open from 7.30 am for breakfast and will be showing the game on the big screen and in the bar. How could you consider going anywhere else other than the comfort of your own bed!!!

Isn't the viewing angle a bit poor in the Ram? the building doesn't lend itself to TV that well, unless you are on one of the two tables at the front? Or has it all changed?

Agreed you'd have problems with a big crowd... up to a couple of dozen would be the max, with people watching where they were sitting/standing. Mind as Spitfire says you can still have a good sized TV free zone at the back for those that want it..... Mr Tigger

Sadly the Organ in question has gone (presumably with Henry to Theydon Bois) Still similar regulars - as has been said before if you like Baroosh you probably won't like the Ram... Personally like the character & atmosphere.... CP

Would you all recommend it to a "lady" to drink in. Hate and object to queueing in pub/bar/discos for a drink, like a good old pub, with friendly landlord/lady and ability to chat with friends or a nice young man! I shall check it out if recommended.. [:D]

My wife, and indeed most of my mates hate the place, and to be fair it can be a skanky old pub at times. Atmosphere is always great in there, though. Someone once offered, quite amiably, to p*ss in my pocket in there. I politely refused.

The Ram is a great pub for underage drinkers, my husbands lower 6th came in yesterday, some of them, just turned 16. When he informed the landlord asked what it had to do with him, and as long as they had i.d. that was o.k. So all you 16 year olds, that's the place to be.....[:)]

Went in there earlier, nice welcome from the new people. They have even got ASBO sheets of those banned from going into licenced premises up behind the bar!. Perhaps there should be a big notice board in parliament square with pictures of all our esteemed ASBO holders....might make some of them think twice about causing mayhem.

No u have not understood the post Tigger I was giving u a clue to where Henry may be heading,(Hotel) anyway back on subject of the Ram. Sorry Admin. The relief manager seems ok, I think he needs some Bar Staff, he said he started at 11a.m. and when I was there he was going to close 7p.m. that night, he had been working on his own all that time. Some of the regulars from long ago still there, it needs a new Tenant to try and build the atmosphere up the way it used to be under Henry & Lesley.
