disabled bay
Just a warning or reminder that if you have your own bay outside your house you must remember to display your blue badge.
I forgot to do this on sunday night and monday morning the nice little man on his scooter visited my close and placed a ticket on my car,I thought he might have walked the five steps, knocked, and checked whether I had a current badge,but they are not there to help , just fill the council coffers.

Who do you report missuse of a disabled bay to? I'm not saying you do but there is a family up my road who does and then intimidate legal users.

The bay is not there for the owner of the property, anyone with a registered disability, a person or carer displaying the appropriate disability badge can park there.
Water didn't display any badge, it wasn't displayed, hence the misuse.

You may be able to appeal the ticket, but James007 is correct, the disabled bay is not allocated to any particular person and you should have displayed your badge.[:(]
When you appeal EHDC payments department are a little bit sympathetic (more than the enforcement officers) but generally they will accompany any refund with a letter saying "You were in the wrong but we will let you off this time - but might not next time"

I cannot really appeal as I hold my hands up to making a mistake, I always display my badge but this particular evening when I arrived home I forgot. I cannot complain as I spend part of my life moaning about people who I would think, have not got one, but still park in disabled bays..
