YMCA Shop - Good Service
I have recently had to visit the new YMCA Shop in Maidenhead Street a few times to drop goods off after a relative's bereavement.
At this sad time it was good to find staff working there genuinely grateful for donations. Each time I visited I was always met with politeness, smiles and helpfulness.
We all tend to moan about bad service - so I think it's very important to highlight something positive for a change[:)]

I have dropped of a lot of items over the past few months to The Isabel Hospice shop and have found them to be very grateful for my donations, and helped me take stuff from the back of my car. Excellent service and with a lovely smile too!!

Might be wrong, but my understanding is that it was a temporary lease. I think the unit may have been let out to a 'proper business' but like I said that might be wrong....

shame it's gone as they kept their prices reasonable. Some of the others are pricing donated items a bit too high in my opinion. l don't buy half as much in them as l used to !!

The agent's TO LET sign is still up so I suspect it's still available.

What a pity this is going to be a charity shop. Prime retail unit going to waste. Hertford does not need more charity shops, it needs more boutique style shops, and high street brands like Fat Face, Joules, Clark's Shoes, Jones Bootmaker, White Stuff etc. it's shops like these that would make shopping in the town more appealing and have a positive knock-on effect to other businesses. I love Hertford, it's a great place to live but the one downside is the range and quality of shops in the high street.
