"Hertford Town Council’s summer programme will begin on Sunday 12th May, when Hertford Castle will open its doors to the public for the first time this year. The free event will run from 12 Noon to 4.00pm with a range of activities and entertainment for all ages.
Inside the Castle, members of the Friends of Hertford Castle will be on hand to share their knowledge of the historic building and show visitors the town’s regalia, treasures and photographs. Children will be able to dress up in period costume, take part in a trail and make something to take home in the craft area.
Outside in the Castle grounds there will be Falconry displays at 12.30pm and 3.00pm, a bouncy castle and 2nd Bengeo Scouts will be providing delicious refreshments.
There will also be informative, guided tours of the Castle’s 12th Century walls at 1.00pm, 2.00pm and 3.00pm, so there really will be something for everyone!"
