The colour and signs have not been approved by the District Council, who are aware of recent developments and will be pursuing the matter. Comments from the public are welcomed by the planning department as they give added "leaverage".

No, i think it a couple of weeks away yet. I originally heard it was going to be Steak/European. Just cant find a decent place for dinner that isnt the usual curry/chinese/thai. Ware has really come on with a wide choice of non chain restaurants, and I now find myself going there for dinner every time. (Bollywoods has two other branches in north Ldn)

Maybe you should try The Hillside, which seems to have a very good reputation, if a little expensive.

Well, I for one will not be going to Bollywoods or any of the other Indians in town. My only exeperience (forced) of Indian cuisine resulted in me being constipated for the best part of a week! Has anyone been to Papillon in Stapleford? I'm going next week and was wondering what it's like.

I'm actually reassured to see the return of a bit of purple. I went to the once-marvellously lurid French place opposite Folly Island the other day -- previously covered in purple artex -- only to find it was all done out in innocuous white! Que'est-ce que c'est?

When I walked by on Saturday, I thought that the purple had actually been toned down a bit and was now more of a Navy blue - still pretty glaring. There were also lots of waiters milling about inside and napkins set out on laid tables. It looked like it was about to open to me.

It was open for business on Sat night when i passed, very empty i assume because it wanted a low profile opening ???. Carpet is awesome, worth a journey in itself.

I went to Bollywoods! had to try it out after reading this page... food was actually really good, service not so good, decor inside is definately better than outside...

I have been twice to Bollywoods since it opened. There is a wide choice of dishes on the menu, the food is of a reasonably good quality and the service is attentive and friendly. The only criticism is that I am not a smoker and it was very smokey. In conclusion, easily the best Indian restuarant in Hertford.

Steve, If you go past in the afternoon, they often have menu leaflets in a box outside. The prices are not as bad as I thought they might be. I'm going to give it a try this week.

It's a shame that they haven't put beer prices on the menu though. That's where I usually get stung. Also, don't take the trouble to copy Hertford's longest domain name off the back of the menu. At this time http://www.bollywoodsrestaurant.co.uk doesn't exist!
