Tesco closed this morning
Tesco closed before 7 am and had been for a while I think. Not sure why but someone said health and safety due to burst pipe?

Why do they have to say Health and Safety? They could just say we have had a burst pipe.
I do despair of the over use of the term 'Health and Safety', diminishes when it is relevant.

It was open when I went in around midday but there is a pretty foul smell in there. The lady on the till who served me said they had had a flood caused by rain water.

They were shut until 10.30 I was told.
Drains could not cope with the downpour and backed up, flooding parts of the shop. The whole shop stunk [xx(]

I would assume that quoting "health and safety" is less off putting to customers than telling them that the sewer is backed up.

To be fair to me Leo, that response was a bit crude. I only pulled you up on grammar, as you do to others.
A friend of mine has seen your comment and at his elder age is questioning why you would post it.
Can you explain the 'cant' comment please?

That probably should be elderly age but we'll let it go.
If my attempt at a bit of saucy humour in acknowledgment of my incorrect transposition of 'a' and 'u' went over your head or offended your sensibilities I apologise.
