Hertford Hospital Parking
Does anybody know whether the double yellow lines as you enter the HH are official Highway Code enforceable yellow lines or if the hospital put them in?
There seems to be quite of lot of vehicles that park there on a daily basis

I would imagine that the driveway to the hospital is private property, and therefore not covered by any legislation governing the placing and enforcement of yellow lines. It is probably the private company which controls parking at the hospital who is responsible. The parking restrictions would not be enforced by EHDC civil "enforcement" people, but it would be up to the company to take action to recover a civil debt in the County Court. I would doubt, that in most cases, they would bother. However, this is my opinion and I will not be responsible for anyone who parks there and gets taken to Court[:)]

Perhaps someone can confirm or put me straight but I've always thought that the difficulty any private parking "authority" has in enforcement is they would have to take "civil" action and go to county court which would mean they would have to prove or demonstrate their loss (so it can be recovered)?
If you have parked on a "private" double yellow line (or handed over your unexpired parking ticket to someone else) they would be hard pressed to demonstrate any financial loss (Regardless of the actions/advice/threats of any allegedley unhelpful, arrogant, c*** parking Nazis employed to enforce the "contract".
(oh dear - I think my attempt at self censorship has made things worse!).
