Lots of promotional material in Hertford's Tesco advertising 5p off a litre of petrol when you spend £50 or more... only there's no petrol station at the Hertford Store!!! So how much does it cost to drive to the nearest Tesco Petrol Station? And how much does Tesco pay these muppets to come up with these promotions? Please, somebody, am I being unreasonable?

I think the point is that the Tesco management for Hertford should either have withdrawn the promo for that store or they have made the decision because perhaps the customers would have complained they weren't being given the same promo as the store 10mins away - many people do shop at different Tesco so can use them.

I suppose is depends on each persons situation, I pass Tesco's in Hatfield daily going to and from work, so would take advantage of the offer, not much help for those who dont go near Hatfield, Brookfield farm or other tesco petrol stations.

And on Sunday Tesco sold me a newspaper with a free DVD starring Ewan McGregor and I had already seen it previously - just who do they there are?!

It is a national promotion and all stores are taking part. I wouldn't spend £50 in Hertford then immediately drive to Hatfield and fill up, but I would fill up on my way to/from work when passing there.

I'm pleased to get the 5p off voucher will use it the next time I go through Hatfield - I'd be annoyed if I didn't get it and other stores were running the promotion.

I used my Hertford acquired voucher yesterday in Hatfield and the cashiers were remarking on the large number of said vouchers being used that day. I saved £1.50 on about 3/4 of a tank in my small car.

hmm don't know how accurate this is. My brother works for Tesco - in HR - doesn't get anywhere near that amount, and def. no company car...

Tesco "work level" system has 6 levels. 90% of staff fall into level 1. Level 2 tends to be supervisors types and head office staff. Level 3 is manager, level 4 is Controller/Dept-div head, and level 5 and 6 is for directors. You are right about the salary band too. I was a level 3, but my salary could range between £40k and £70K, and the bonus could range between £5K and £25k. Then you got the shares on top of that.
