Hertford & Ware Waterbus

Please note that the waterbus service is currently suspended until 2025 due to the rerdevelopment of Bircherley Green.

The Hertford & Ware Waterbus was introduced in 2013 and runs along The River Lee between Bircherley Green and Ware Priory every weekend from April.

During the summer holiday months the boat operates on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Services depart at 12pm and 4pm with single tickets available for £7 and return tickets at £12.

Journey times are between 75 and 90 minutes and include two locks and scenic views across The Meads.

Facilities include wheelchair accessibility and an on-board bar.

Tickets can be purchased on board or an advance, subject to availability.
