Sacombe Road Plans Refused

Plans for 58 homes on the site of Bengeo Nursery in Sacombe Road have been turned down following a meeting of the council's Development Control Committee.

The proposals by housebuilder Bovis would hav seen 50 new houses and 8 flats built on the site of the nursery, opposite another recent development by Fairview homes.

Reasons for refusal included the fact that the site was on green belt land, that it was car dependent and failed to encourage alternative forms of transport, poor design and lack of amenities
