An Armed Response Unit arrested a 57 year-old man in Windsor Drive yesterday evening.
The arrest followed reports of a man with a firearm. Police tried to negotiate with the man following which a baton round was fired.
The man was taken to the QEII hospital in Welwyn Garden City before being released into police custody for questioning.
