Zog Walk Away From Development

Wednesday 2 November 2011

Property investment company Zog Group have walked away from plans for a hotel, homes and shops on the site of the former police station in Ware Road.

The controversial plans for the site were recently approved after the district council pulled out of the appeal process, offering no evidence.

The site is owned by the Hertfordshire Police Authority, who brought in The Zog Group to help develop the site.

The company claim that the £800,000 payment required by a Section 106 agreement linked to the application was more than they were prepared to pay and in excess of the amount agreed with the Police Authority.

The authority are now looking for a buyer for the site.
