Horns Mill Man Given ASBO

Tuesday 17 April 2012

A man has given an Anti-social Behaviour Order (ASBO) for two years yesterday following a history of anti-social behaviour, some of which was racially aggravated and threatening.

George Game, 18, of Purkiss Road was issued with the order following a hearing at Stevenage Magistrates Court. The order prevents him from using abusive, insulting, offensive threatening or intimidating behaviour in a public place or in any place to which the public have access in Hertford.

It also prevents him from being in possession of any open or opened vessel containing intoxicating liquor in a public place in Hertford, with the exception of being in licensed premises.

He was also given a Community Order with a supervision requirement for 24 months and an exclusion requirement barring him from any and all licensed premises including petrol stations in Hertford for 12 months and ordered to pay costs and compensation to his victims.

Deborah Mead, from the Community Safety Department at Hertfordshire Constabulary, who helped to get the order, said: "George Game made the lives of many people in Hertford difficult for a long time due to his anti – social behaviour, which was not acceptable. The Order given to him emphasises how strongly the court viewed his behaviour. This should act as a warning to anyone else who thinks that such behaviour is acceptable, it isn’t, and you will be brought before the courts."
