Bollywoods Fined For Building Work

Bollywoods Indian restaurant has been fined £2000 plus costs by local magistrates after flouting building regulations during recent work on their premises in Fore Street.

A dangerous structures notice was issued by council surveyors in July and work to stabilise the building started shortly after. However the work carried out by the restaurant went beyond that approved by the authority. 

After letters from the council to owner Hanif Ali went unanswered, proceedings were issued against him, resulting in a court appearance ealier this month.
