Footbridge Refurbishment

Work is underway to refurbish the footbridge across the weir at Hartham Common.

The Environment Agency initially estimated that repairs would take only a few weeks but further examination showed that the condition of the bridge was worse than expected.

Rotton timber decks, beams and handrails are being replaced along the length of the bridge.

The work is expected to be completed by early May 2014.
