The District Council have extended their plastics recycling scheme to cover all plastics types from 1-6. This includes bottles used for beverage, milk, juices, household cleaners, motor oil and shampoo.
Other plastic packaging such as shrink wrap, food coverings, bags and tubs are also included.
Washed plastics should be placed in residents' blue bins together with metal cans.
Excluded from the scheme are hard plastics such as DVD cases, CD cases, and electronic product casings, toothbrushes, sunglasses or five gallon water bottles. As a general rule if you can snap the plastic and it shatters it's hard plastic and cannot be accepted.
