Towpath Work Starts

Work has started to prevent the towpath outside The Barge from collapsing into the river.

Contractors were yesterday deploying ballast after the condition of the brickwork deteriorated further.

The repairs have been the subject of protracted negotiations between the District Council, British Waterways and Virgin Media.
