Hertford Town Council will be welcoming visitors to Hertford Castle on Sunday 9th October, for the last Open Day of the season.
Special activities for the day include a craft area for children, and the launch of the 2012 Hertford Calendar.
Inside the Castle Friends of Hertford Castle will give visitors tours of the Castle’s historic rooms and the Castle vault, and share their knowledge about the history of the Castle. There will also be special tours focusing on the 12th century flint and stone walls.
The Official 2012 Hertford Calendar will also be launched at the Open Day, when it will go on sale. The calendar’s photographs were taken by Hertford residents in the annual competition organised by Hertford Town and Tourist Information centre; on Sunday the winners will be presented with their certificates and a Calendar by the Mayor of Hertford Councillor Sally Newton.
As well as the children’s activities, there will also be a bouncy castle and refreshments in the Castle grounds. The free event runs from 12 noon to 4.00 p.m.
