Work Restarts At Sainsbury's

Tuesday 11 October 2011

Work has restarted on Hertford's new Sainsbury's supermarket after a six month haitus.

Contractors have now started work on site whilst six new portakabin offices and building materials have also arrived.

Initial work includes the laying of foundations prior to the steel frame of the building being erected next month.

Work stopped in April without any explanation, although the PR company employed by Sainsbury's later claimed that work had been halted to re-examine the store layout and finalise technical agreements. However, unofficial sources spoke of budgetary issues being behind the stoppage.

The store is expected to open in Summer 2012.
